ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS:

AMENDING THE BEVERLY HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MINIMUM NUMBER OF OPERATING TAXICABS PER FRANCHISEE.  Second Reading - For Adoption.

Comment: The adoption of an ordinance amending the Beverly Hills Municipal Code as it relates to the minimum number of taxicabs each Taxicab Franchisee must have in operation. The proposed amendment to the ordinance will modify the requirement from 25 to a number determined by the Transportation Official.



RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS:

DESIGNATING THE CITY’S VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE FOR THE 2016 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE. 

Comment: This item designates two City Council representatives as a voting delegate and an alternate at the Annual Business Meeting that takes place during the annual conference of the 2016 League of California Cities which will take place on October 5-7 in Long Beach, California.



APPROVAL OF:

AGREEMENT WITH ALLSTAR FIRE EQUIPMENT INC. TO FURNISH LABOR AND MATERIALS FOR THE SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA) FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT;

APPROPRIATION OF $111,000 FROM AVAILABLE GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS EQUIPMENT; AND

AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE ORDER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $588,725.02 FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS EQUIPMENT.

Comment: The Beverly Hills Fire Department (BHFD) needs to replace its Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) from its current inventory. Staff recommends that the City Council move to approve an agreement with AllStar Fire Equipment Inc. for the purchase of the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), approve a purchase order in an amount not-to-exceed $588,725.02 for this purchase, and appropriate $111,000 from the available General Fund Balance to the Equipment Replacement Fund. During its study session on April 5, 2016, the City Council earmarked funds of $111,000 from the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014/15 available year-end General Fund balance for the replacement of the SCBA.


7.
AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AN AGREEMENT WITH OSTASHAY & ASSOCIATES FOR ON-CALL HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONSULTING SERVICES PAID BY THE CITY'S GENERAL FUND, AND

APPROVAL OF A CHANGE ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 FOR A TOTAL NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $125,000.

Comment: This amendment allows Ostashay & Associates to continue its on-call historic preservation consulting services with the City of Beverly Hills. Funding for this agreement is included in the existing budget.

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS ESTABLISHING PREFERENTIAL PARKING PERMIT ZONE "BT" ON THE 500 BLOCK OF NORTH CANON DRIVE BETWEEN PARK WAY AND CARMELITA AVENUE.

Comment: Traffic & Parking Commission recommendation establishing a new permit zone with a "2-Hour Parking, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and No Parking, 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Daily" except by permit regulation.

The next City Council meeting will be held on July 19, 2016.
 

This meeting will be broadcast on live television, gavel to gavel, on CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT television access Channel BHTV10 Time Warner Cable. This program will be rebroadcast on Wednesday, July 6 at 8pm, and Friday, July 8, 2016 at 3pm.
