This guide has been prepared as an aid so that you will be able to express you opinions briefly and clearly before the Commission and thus increase the effectiveness of your presentation. Remarks are limited to 3 minutes unless extended by the Commission.

2. Organization you represent if any.

3. Your Statement should include all pertinent facts within your knowledge. It is important to discuss only those matters relating to the hearing and to tie your discussion of the facts directly to the decision you wish the Commission to reach.

Written Testimony

In order to have written material included in the Health and Safety Commissioner's mailed Agenda Packet, 10 copies of the material must be delivered to the Emergency Management office no later than 11 calendar days before the date of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing.
Written material (10 copies) that is presented to the Health and Safety Commission after this date and up to 1:00 p.m. the day of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing, will be included in the Commissioners’ Agenda folder, but may not be reviewed by individual Commissioners due to the amount of material that the Commissioners have to review for the Agenda.



Members of the public may address the Commission regarding any items not on the Agenda that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. By State law, the Commission may not discuss or vote on items not on the Agenda.

With the concurrence of the Commission, the Chair may choose to amend the order of the items on the agenda.

1. Health and Safety Recognition Program - Leon Haytayan & Silverado Beverly Place

The Health and Safety Recognition Program continues to honor those individuals, businesses, or groups who have demonstrated leadership in the field of health and safety issues or made a contribution to the mission of the Health and Safety Commission. Leon Haytayan of Leon’s Beverly Hills will be recognized. Also, in honor of June as Alzheimer’s Awareness month, the Silverado Beverly Place / Memory Care Community will be recognized.

2. Disaster Ready Partner - None

In order to promote disaster preparedness efforts in the business community, each month, the Health and Safety Commission will give a shout-out to those businesses that have submitted their application to become Disaster Ready partners.

3. Cybersecurity - None

Each month, the Health and Safety Commission hears Cybersecurity related topics such as safe website identification, internet safety for children and teens, advancements in technology, email hoaxes, and fiber optics in order to promote the safety and security of the community.

Logan Phillippo, Senior Management Analyst, will review a proposed ordinance on a policy regulating smoking in multi-unit housing.
