GUIDE FOR PERSONS INTENDING TO SPEAK

This guide has been prepared as an aid so that you will be able to express you opinions briefly and clearly before the Commission and thus increase the effectiveness of your presentation. Remarks are limited to 3 minutes unless extended by the Commission.

1. State your Name and Address.

2. Organization you represent if any.

3. Your Statement should include all pertinent facts within your knowledge. It is important to discuss only those matters relating to the hearing and to tie your discussion of the facts directly to the decision you wish the Commission to reach.

Written Testimony
In order to have written material included in the Health and Safety Commissioner's mailed Agenda Packet, 10 copies of the material must be delivered to the Emergency Management office no later than 11 calendar days before the date of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing.
Written material (10 copies) that is presented to the Health and Safety Commission after this date and up to 1:00 p.m. the day of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing, will be included in the Commissioners’ Agenda folder, but may not be reviewed by individual Commissioners due to the amount of material that the Commissioners have to review for the Agenda.

Members of the public may address the Commission regarding any items not on the Agenda that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. By State law, the Commission may not discuss or vote on items not on the Agenda.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

With the concurrence of the Commission, the Chair may choose to amend the order of the items on the agenda.

1.	Health and Safety Recognition Program - Teen Line

The Health and Safety Recognition Program continues to honor those individuals, businesses, or groups who have demonstrated leadership in the field of health and safety issues or made a contribution to the mission of the Health and Safety Commission.

2.	Disaster Preparedness

Each month, the Health and Safety Commission will hear topics related to Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness. Meena Janmohamed, Management Analyst, will provide a brief presentation.

3.	Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing Ordinance

Senior Management Analyst Logan Phillippo will provide an overview of outreach activity related to the Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing Ordinance that went into effect on January 1, 2018.

4.	North Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project Update

Samer Elayyan, Project Manager, transmits information only regarding the North Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project.

5.	Upcoming Liaison Meeting

The Health and Safety Commission Liaison meeting will take place on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 3pm.

6.	Flavored Tobacco Products

Senior Management Analyst Logan Phillippo will seek Commission input on developing a policy that could restrict the sale of flavored tobacco products in the City.
