Art Tours at the Show

Art Tours are held at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, at the Main Information Booth located between Canon Dr. and Beverly Dr. in the center of the block.  The art show committee selects a few artists to be interviewed by contemporary professionals on the Los Angeles art scene.

Shana Nys Dambrot, art critic and reporter; of L.A. Canvas, Flavorpill and L.A. Weekly fame; along with Robert Miller, ceramicist, gallerist and college teacher led tours at the most recent show.  Featured artists were new media artists JT Burke and Tanya Doskova, installation artist YaYa Chou, sculptor David Falossi, photographers Thomas Barbey and Robert Kawika Sheer, painter Bradford Salamon, and ceramicists Masuo Ojima and Gerit Grimm.

Fine Art Commission representatives discussed the new iPhone app, which highlights the permanent collection of world-renowned art in Beverly Gardens.

A discussion and brief history of the Permanent Fine Art pieces you see in Beverly Gardens every day you drive or walk by was conducted by members of the Fine Art Commission who discussed the City’s recent art acquisitions, such as Yayoi Kusama’s eye-popping tulip sculpture, Hymn of Life, and Roxy Paine’s Erratic, as well as the more traditional permanent sculpture in the park, like Hunter and Hounds.
