The General Plan outlines the community's vision of how the City should grow and what services and amenities should be offered.  The plan sets goals and policies for what is important to the community, including -

• Great Neighborhoods
• Excellent Public Safety
• Vibrant Business and Shopping Districts
• Wise Water, and Natural Resource Management

The City of Beverly Hills comprehensively updated it's General Plan on January 12, 2010.  The update included new Historic Preservation, Economic Sustainability, and Public Service Elements.  The new goals and policies are intended to encourage the continued preservation of neighborhood character and community safety, while ensuring a vibrant economy, and further conservation of resources.  Programs to implement the general plan are also included.

RECENT AMENDMENTS

Since the comprehensive update, the City has amended its General Plan as follows:

• Hazard Mitigation Plan (November 15, 2011) Added to the Safety Element

• Housing Element 2008-2013 (November 15, 2011) - Certified by the State on February 13, 2012, the Housing Element addresses the community's needs for housing.  This includes how the City will plan for housing that meets the needs of all community members including seniors and persons living with disabilities.
