Eduardo Luna is Beverly Hills’ Independent City Auditor. Luna joined the City in 2018 after serving as City Auditor for the City of San Diego since 2008.
Reporting directly to the City Council, Luna manages performance audits and reviews of City departments, programs and services.
At the City of San Diego, Luna worked as Chief Audit Executive of the 8th largest city in the United States with an annual budget of $3.3 billion. He is an eight time winner of the Association of Local Government Auditors ‘Knighton Award’ for Best Performance in the United States and Canada.
Luna began his career as an Evaluator for the U.S. Government Accountability Offices in San Francisco and Washington D.C. He spent the next 12 years as Deputy City Auditor for the City of San Jose, before arriving in San Diego.
Luna earned his B.A. in Political Science from Santa Clara University and his Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
