THE FOUR COMPONENTS OF A CAFETERIA PLAN ARE:

  •          City Contributions
  •          Employee Selection of Core Benefits (Medical, Dental, and Vision)
  •          Opt-Out Incentive
  •          Selection Incentive

 

CITY CONTRIBUTION

City Contribution is the amount the City will pay towards core benefits. City contribution towards the cost of Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance vary by employee group.

 

OPT-OUT INCENTIVE

  •          Employee may opt-out of medical, dental or vision insurance coverage
  •          The opt-out incentive varies by employee group
  •          Proof of alternate coverage is required to opt-out of medical insurance.
  •          Proof of coverage is not required to opt-out of dental and vision

 

SELECTION INCENTIVE

  •          The plan also provides incentives to encourage employees to choose lower cost benefits
  •          The selection incentives are applicable when the City contribution amount is larger than the combined cost of employee selection of medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  •          The Selection-out incentives varies by employee group.
