Coldwater Cañon Reservoir Project

The City of Beverly Hills is replaced the aging Coldwater Cañon Reservoir - a $22 million project.  In addition to upgrading the City's water infrastructure, an additional 1 million gallons in water storage capacity will be added to the to the City's system.

The project is located on the east side of Coldwater Cañon at the intersection of Beverly Drive. Included in the scope of the plans will be the restoration of a park above the subterranean reservoir. Park amenities will include a synthetic jogging track, seating areas with shade trellises, a fountain and water feature, new irrigation, landscaping and trees. (Click here to view the Work Plan.) The original, subterranean reservoir was built in 1928, and has undergone regular maintenance and repairs over the years.  The reservoir stores water that serves the central and southwest portions of the City, including the business district. It now requires complete replacement due to the extent of damage that has occurred from both the 1969 Sylmar and 1994 Northridge earthquakes.
