The Honorable Kathy Reims was appointed to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2016. She is a former member and chair of the Planning Commission and Traffic and Parking Commission. 

Most recently she served as a member of the Budget Review Committee. She also served on the Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction Committee and is a graduate of the Team Beverly Hills Leadership Program. Her other community activities include volunteer work for Beverly Hills Meals on Wheels, El Rodeo PTA and the West Hollywood Homeless Shelter. Her participation in civic affairs began with going door to door for John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign in 1960.

Councilmember Reims grew up in Cheviot Hills and attended Marymount High School and UCLA.  She and her husband Joel have lived in Beverly Hills for over forty years.  All of their children graduated from Beverly Hills High School and their granddaughter Grace will begin kindergarten at Beverly Vista this fall.
