Beverly Hills City Council Creating COVID-19 Business Recovery Assistance Task Force

Beverly Hills, CA – As the business community of Beverly Hills prepares to re-open following the COVID-19 pandemic, the City Council has formed a task force of local business leaders to plan for the recovery and develop strategies for success.

“We have assembled an experienced group to help us navigate the challenging work ahead,” said Mayor Les Friedman.  “I’m confident this task force will provide valuable insight as we rebuild our local economy following this unprecedented event.”

The members bring decades of Beverly Hills business, hospitality and tourism experience to this critical dialogue and will lead an even more diverse group through discussions as the business sector emerges from the pandemic.  Current members include:

  • Howard Fisher – City Treasurer
  • Offer Nissenbaum – Hotel & Hospitality
  • Sandy Murphy – Hotel & Hospitality
  • Russell Goldsmith – Banking & Financial Services
  • Debbie Quick - Land Use Attorney
  • Bill Wiley – Property Management
  • Giacomino Drago - Restaurateur
  • Tom Blumenthal – Retailer
  • Sabaa Kamal – Retailer
  • Sunny Sassoon – Retailer
  • Todd Johnson - President and CEO, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce
  • Kathy Gohari - Rodeo Drive Committee
  • Julie Wagner – CEO, Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau

The first virtual meeting of the Task Force will be Tuesday, April 28 at 4:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on Beverly Hills Television (Spectrum Channel 10) and available at beverlyhills.org/live
