May 31, 2020: City of Beverly Hills Implements Business District Curfew from 1 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. and Citywide Curfew from 4 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.

Beverly Hills, CA – To ensure the continued safety of the Beverly Hills community, the City today is imposing two Citywide curfews.  The first, in the City’s Business District, will begin on Sunday, May 31st at 1 p.m. until Monday, June 1st at 5:30 a.m.  The second will be a Citywide curfew from Sunday, May 31st at 4 p.m. until Monday, June 1st at 5:30 a.m.

The Business District curfew encompasses the Business Triangle (including Rodeo Drive), South Beverly Drive, Robertson Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard.

“Violence, looting, and vandalism will not be tolerated in our City,” said Mayor Lester Friedman.  “It’s unfortunate that the message of the peaceful protesters has been diminished by criminal behavior.  We must take these proactive measures to protect our residents, first responders and visitors while providing hope to our businesses as they work to recover. We encourage all of our residents to remain at home.”

The Beverly Hills Police Department is fully staffed and actively patrolling the entire City including residential neighborhoods.  BHPD is working closely with our law enforcement partners, including the National Guard.  City businesses will also be closely monitored as the curfew is strictly enforced.

The curfews prohibit anyone from being upon public streets, alleys, parks or any public place.
