LA County Department of Public Health Announces Curbside Pick-Up Permitted for Certain Businesses Beginning May 8

Beverly Hills, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has announced that the following non-essential businesses may begin curbside pick-up starting on Friday, May 8:

·      Bookstores 
·      Clothing stores 
·      Florists
·      Music stores
·      Sporting goods stores
·      Toy stores
·      Car dealership showrooms (open for sales with adherence to distancing and infection control protocols)  

This update allows businesses in the City of Beverly Hills that fall within these categories to begin offering curbside pick-up starting on Friday, May 8th permitting they follow social distancing and infection control protocols. 

Affected businesses should ensure an updated online presence and designate a pick-up meter curbside.  For additional information or questions, please email businessrecovery@beverlyhills.org

Face coverings continue to be mandated in the City of Beverly Hills for all persons if there is a potential to come within six feet of someone who is not a member of their household.  This includes employees at businesses that are able to be open for curbside pick-up. 

The LA County Department of Public Health Stay at Home Order remains in place and continues to order the following non-essential businesses to remain closed:

  • All other non-essential retail businesses, including jewelry stores and shoe stores, shall be closed.
  • All bars and nightclubs that do not serve food shall be closed to the public.
  • Any bars or nightclubs or other businesses that serve food may remain open only for purposes of continuing to prepare and offer food to customers via delivery service or to be picked up.  Dine-in food service is prohibited.  The City will accommodate parking in front of restaurants to allow for easier access for ‘to-go’ dining.
  • All restaurants and retail food facilities shall be prohibited from serving food for consumption on premises including through a self-serve, unwrapped buffet.
  • All movie theaters and live performance venues shall be closed to the public.
  • All gyms and fitness centers shall be closed to the public.
  • All businesses providing physical health and beauty services, including spas, hair salons, massage parlors, and nail salons, that do not provide medical care or services that supplement medical care as directed by medical professionals will be closed to the public.
