Temporary Full Closure of Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills Now in Effect

Beverly Hills, CA – Wilshire Boulevard between Crescent Drive and Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills is now closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.  With reduced volume throughout the City due to the COVID-19 emergency, the City Council this week approved an accelerated construction timeline for the Metro Purple Line Project including the temporary full closure.  The closure, which also includes a portion of Beverly Drive at Wilshire, will help to expedite subway construction and mitigate future impacts of the project.

The project includes new hauling hours between 7 A.M. and 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. Metro may work on non-religious holidays such as Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Father’s Day. All other authorized work hours and days will remain in effect.

During the closure, changeable message boards, detour signage, and traffic control officers will be present throughout the area to route traffic to Olympic and Santa Monica Boulevards. Soft closures will be in place along Wilshire Boulevard within the detour area to allow local access (map below). Local access to businesses will be maintained.

This specially authorized Metro work may continue until the City’s local emergency is cancelled or within five days of notice from the City Manager or designee. For more information, please visit www.beverlyhills.org/purpleline.
