The City of Beverly Hills is pleased to announce the upcoming Virtual Discovery Charrette for Connect Beverly Hills: Meet Me on Wilshire and La Cienega from Monday June 22nd through Thursday June 25th, 2020. Connect Beverly Hills will help the City prepare for the upcoming Metro Purple Line Extension that will bring two new subway stations to Beverly Hills: Wilshire/La Cienega in 2023 and Wilshire/Rodeo in 2025. These rail stations are expected to bring a significant increase in pedestrian activity along the two corridors. This project will build upon ongoing efforts to make the streets more inviting through upgraded pedestrian amenities, such as landscaping, lighting, and bus shelters.
The Virtual Discovery Charette is an opportunity for the Beverly Hills community to work together with planners and designers to develop collaborative plans and concepts and provide valuable feedback to create a shared vision for Wilshire and La Cienega Boulevards. Stakeholders are invited to participate in as many of the following virtual events as their schedules allow:
Monday, June 22 5-7 PM: Opening Presentation and Discussion
Tuesday, June 23 4-5 PM: Mid-Charrette Update and Public Input
Wednesday, June 24 3-5 PM: Open Studio to Share and Brainstorm Ideas
Thursday, June 25 5-6:30 PM: Closing Presentation and Discussion
Links to join the virtual meetings, as well as meeting recordings, will be provided on the project website. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, initial community outreach activities have been transitioned to an online platform.
