FAQ - How can I obtain a copy of a crime report?
Answer: You may obtain a copy of a crime or traffic accident report by mail or in person if you are listed as a victim or party, or if you have a notarized authorization from a victim or party listed on the report (attorneys must include a signed authorization from their client.) Individuals listed as "suspects" may not obtain copies. Arrest reports are only available from the District Attorney's Office, once the case has been filed. Incident reports are subject to release on a case by case basis. The fee will vary based on the type of incident documented in the report.

By Mail. To obtain a copy of an available report, mail your request to: Records Bureau, Beverly Hills Police Department, 464 North Rexford Dr., Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Indicate the report case number (if known), name of the victim or party and the date, time, and location of the incident. Leave the amount space blank, and write "not to exceed $5.00" on the amount line. Do not send cash, include a stamped self-address envelope and allow 10 business days for processing.

In Person. Contact the Police Department Records Bureau at 464 North Rexford Dr. during business hours, 7:30 am to 11:30 pm daily. Valid picture identification MUST be presented. The fee is $1.00 for the first three pages and $0.20 for each additional page.
