With service and excellence at the forefront, the Beverly Hills Fire Department (BHFD) works alongside our constituents to act proactively as a risk reduction entity for the community.
This is accomplished in several ways through education, planning, enforcement, and outreach. We work with several organizations including the City's Planning and Building& Safety Departments, Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD), PTA, property owners/managers, contractors/builders, and local businesses.
We work with the school district on curriculum to provide the children of our community lessons on fire/life safety (in the near future), provide school tours of the fire stations, and visit schools.
We work with our Planning and Building & Safety Departments to ensure everything built is in compliance with all local and state codes, and educate owners and builders of the importance of these codes.
We work with our residents to minimize risk through programs like CERT, BERT, and EERT, and group training of fire extinguishers. We also provide outreach at events such as Fire Service Day and Fire Prevention Month.
We work with our local businesses, property owners, and facilities in performing fire and life safety inspections.
