Piling installation on Wilshire underway.
Piling operations have resumed on Wilshire between Crescent and El Camino. K-rail barriers are in place 24 hours a day and Wilshire has been reduced to two lanes in each direction. Pile installation is anticipated to resume on the north side of Wilshire this week and is expected to continue through April. Installation will then move to the south side of Wilshire through July. Work hours for piling will be daily from 8 am to 9 pm, with non-drilling activities from 9 pm to 11 pm. Piles will be installed across Beverly on weekends and will require lane closures at the intersection of Wilshire and Beverly. This work is anticipated to start next weekend. Work hours will be from 7 am to 8 pm, with non-drilling activities from 8 pm to 10 pm. For more details, please see Metro’s latest construction notice.
Water main relocation between Crescent and El Camino this weekend.
Water main lateral connections on Wilshire are scheduled to occur overnight this weekend. On Friday, January 24, work will occur on Wilshire at N. Crescent, the alley behind the AKA, and N. Cañon. On Monday, January 27, work will occur on Wilshire at El Camino, N. Beverly, and the alley behind the Montage. Work hours on both days will be from 8 pm to 6 am. Water service will be interrupted from 10 pm to 6 am in the area where work is occurring. All impacted properties have been notified.
Geotechnical instrumentation to be installed in Beverly Hills.
Geotechnical instruments will be installed within the station box and along the tunnel alignment to monitor ground movement, settlement, and other geological conditions. Upcoming areas include Wilshire, Young, Lasky, Charleville, Spalding, and Moreno. This work will include intermittent closures of traffic lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, and parking meters. Work hours will be weekdays from 7 am to 4 pm, though installations on S. Moreno may need to be completed on weekends. Weekend hours will be from 8 am to 7 pm as needed.
Restoration of Clifton and Crescent intersection to begin next month.
In February, the contractor will return to the Clifton and Crescent intersection to reconstruct the sidewalks and ADA ramps at each corner. The temporary traffic signal poles will also be replaced with permanent poles next month. This work will require impacts to traffic lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, and parking meters near the intersection. Work hours will be weekdays from 7 am to 4 pm and weekends from 8 am to 6 pm when necessary. This work is expected to last about four weeks.

Concrete and material delivery underway.
For concrete placement and material deliveries such as rebar, Wilshire will be reduced to two lanes in each direction from 3 am to 4 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Additional closures during this work include:
Sewer maintenance planned near La Cienega Station.
On Monday through Wednesday, the contractor will be performing sewer maintenance in the area from 9 am to 4 pm. Closures for this work may not be implemented during concrete/material delivery closures and will include:

Want to get involved in Metro’s planning for accessing future Purple Line Extension subway stations? Take their online survey and make your voice heard on how to make getting to and from the new stations easier and more pleasant. The planning is expected to wrap up this fall.
The Purple Line Extension will provide a transportation alternative to the congested Westside, including two stops in Beverly Hills: Wilshire/ La Cienega and Wilshire/ Rodeo.

PROJECT DETAILS - Purple Line
The project is scheduled to be built in three sections. The first section of the Purple Line Extension will extend the subway from the Wilshire/ Western station in Los Angeles to Wilshire/La Cienega in Beverly Hills. Section 2 extends from the Wilshire/ La Cienega station to the Wilshire/ Rodeo station and then on to the Century City / Constellation station.
