Street Sweeping Program

The Street Sweeping program was established in the late 1920's and has developed over the years in response to Federal and State Clean Water regulations. The program provides pollution control and reduces the flow of urban runoff entering our storm drains, waterways, and ocean. All residential streets within the City of Beverly Hills are swept once a week, while commercial streets are swept six days a week and alleys bi-monthly. On an annual basis, the City's street sweepers collect nearly 1,000 tons of debris and organics from the streets and gutters.

street sweeping schedule

In order to provide uniform coverage and enhance service levels of the street sweeping program, effective February 2021, the City of Beverly Hills will begin to phase-in a new daytime street sweeping schedule on all residential streets South of Santa Monica Blvd. Please see map below for the new street sweeping schedule.

We understand this might impact you or someone in your household. We are here to answer any questions in order to help you determine the best solution. Daytime Street Sweeping Schedule Implementation

parking restrictions and holidays

To effectively sweep our streets, street sweepers need to pass next to the curb where litter and debris accumulate. In order to have a clear path for the street sweepers, it is necessary to apply parking restrictions. Signs warning motorists of the parking restrictions due to street sweeping are posted along the sidewalk. For more information regarding residential parking permits and overnight parking exemptions, please visit Residential Parking Permits and Parking Exemptions
