Greystone Event F.A.Q.
What time can events take place?
Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. (exterior)/10 p.m. (interior)
Meetings taking place inside the mansion can begin at 8 a.m. (Monday-Friday)
When can I book my event?
Residents of the City of Beverly Hills can book special events and wedding receptions up to 12 months in advance. Non-residents can book special events and wedding receptions up to 10 months in advance.
Dates open for wedding ceremony only (without reception) 9 months in advance for Beverly Hills residents and 6 months in advance for non-residents.
How many people can you accommodate?
The number of people depends on the areas used and the style of event. Weddings are best with 200 or fewer guests. Reception-style events (mingling with limited seating) can accommodate more people. Our largest meeting room inside the mansion can hold 70 people theater style.
*Please note, from mid-November through April, the maximum capacity for weddings is 150 people so accommodations can be made in case of rain. Rain plans for other events are determined by the details of the event.
Can I bring an outside caterer?
Applicants are encouraged to use one of the Greystone preferred caterers (Jackson Catering, Wolfgang Puck Catering, or Bouchon). If you would like to use another caterer, please contact the Greystone Venue Coordinator to start the approval process for your licensed caterer. There is a $1000 refundable fee to bring in an outside caterer.
Can alcohol be served?
Yes. Hard alcohol, beer, wine and champagne services require additional insurance that reflects liquor liability. All beverages must be served by a licensed caterer or server. Host bars only.
Is insurance required?
Yes. You must have $2,000,000 of General Liability coverage and the City of Beverly Hills must be listed as Certificate Holder and additional insured on the policy.
What does rental include? What other charges apply?
Greystone is the location for your event. You will work with outside vendors for rentals (tables, chairs, etc.), catering, and other event needs. Prior to booking, the Venue Coordinator will provide an estimate for your event including all fees for park rangers, maintenance, refundable damage deposit, and other fees. Depending on the scope of your event, valet parking service, fire marshal, and/or security may be required. Please see our rates page for more details.
In addition to the rental fee paid to Greystone, we require liability insurance as outlined above, and a public assembly permit is required from the Beverly Hills Fire Department. Other permits may be required if you have a tent, generators, etc.
Can we tent outdoor spaces?
Most areas cannot be tented. Please discuss details with Greystone staff.
Are you accessible to guests with disabilities?
The first floor of Greystone is accessible, as are select exterior venues. Handicapped parking can be arranged.
Is anything prohibited?
Greystone is a city park and historic location, and we have rules that all rental events must follow for the safety of guests and the property. Full rules & regulations are provided in the Greystone Venue Brochure and event application, but here is an overview:
