The City Attorney's Office provides high quality legal services for the City Council, City officials, departments, boards and commissions in the conduct of City business,  represents the City before judicial and administrative proceedings and and to prosecute Municipal Code violations occurring in the City. In addition they provide relevant training sessions to City officials and City staff and streamline the process for City agreements and forms.

City Attorney Laurence S. Wiener is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles’ School of Law and a recipient of the prestigious Order of the Coif. He has more than 20 years experience and specializes in local government and land use law. He is a member of the Board of Advisors to the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy.  Previous appointments include President of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County, former City Attorney for the Cities of Westlake Village and Hidden Hills.

Wiener has worked with City Councils, Planning Commissions, and Redevelopment Agencies throughout the State of California.  He currently serves as General Counsel to the Las Virgenes Malibu Council of Governments and Authority Counsel to the Burbank – Glendale – Pasadena Airport Authority.
