The Honorable Nancy Krasne was elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2007. Prior to being elected as a councilmember she served on the Architectural Commission and the Planning Commission.

A 35-year Beverly Hills area resident, Mrs. Krasne served as chair and vice chair of the Architectural Commission for seven years. In 2003, she was appointed to the Planning Commission. In addition, she has served as a board member of the National Council of Jewish Women, and is past board member of the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. She is currently first vice president of Friends of Greystone, a member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Costume Council and the Beverly Hills Women's Club.

Mrs. Krasne was raised in Los Angeles, graduating from University High School and UCLA. She went on to teach elementary school for 18 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Krasne and her husband, Jim, a lifelong Beverly Hills resident, have been married for more than 40 years. They have two sons, Kevin and David who attended Beverly Hills schools. Krasne is an art collector who has been instrumental in raising funds for the purchase of public art by the City. She also enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
