Lost Pets, Dog Licensing and Pet Adoption

The West Los Angeles Animal Care Center is conveniently located at 11361 West Pico Boulevard (between Corinth and Purdue, just west of Sawtelle) and offers a state-of-the art facility.  The Care Center features numerous amenities, including a common room for cats, a get-acquainted yard for dogs, separate quarters for rabbits and a medical suite for special animal care.  The Care Center incorporates a philosophy of non-trapping and non-removal of wildlife, and has a no-kill policy for animals surrendered to the Care Center. The Center is closed on Mondays, is open from 8 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays.

The Care Center may be reached at 888-452-7381, Extension 144 (Fax 310-207-4965). For information other than lost/found pet info, after choosing 1 for English, press 1 "To find a shelter near you." You will then be prompted to key in your five-digit zip code after which you will hear the address of the West LA Animal Center. Remain on the line and, when prompted, Press 4 to be transferred directly to this Center. Please note that the Center is closed on Mondays for routine animal care services such as adoption and spay/neuter, but is open for emergencies such as animal drop off; just ring the rear door bell.

NOTE:

To report a dangerous animal at-large or request dead animal pick-up in the City of Beverly Hills and on public property only, please phone the City of Beverly Hills directly at (310) 285-PETS (7387).

If you have a dead animal on private property you may contact an independent licensed animal trapper or extermination company for service or you may phone the PETS number for a referral.

Spay and Neuter Your Pets

Beverly Hills contracts with the City of Los Angeles for Animal Care Services and has adopted Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 53.15.2(b)(1) which requires that all cats and dogs over the age of four months must be spayed or neutered.  The relevant City of Los Angeles web page may be viewed here: http://www.laanimalservices.com/laws-policies/spayneuter-ordinance/

In an effort to curb the ongoing proliferation of feral cats and homeless pets domestic cats over the age of four months may not be allowed outside in a public place, unsupervised, unless the cat is spayed or neutered.
