Canapé: French Arts & Culture
April 11 at 10:30 pm
Since 1996, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and CUNY TV have produced together one of the few French programs to appear on American television:Canapé. Stylish and modern, Canapé is the only program entirely devoted to French cultural events in New York and the United States. This monthly half-hour show includes film releases, book translations, exhibitions, festivals, ballets, concerts and theater productions. This episode features the fable of young and old as captured by film director Gilles Bourdos and cinematographer Mark Lee in a film titled simply Renoir, Terakaft, a rock group of Tuareg descent whose name means Caravan, and an in-depth look at the work of Edgar Degas on exhibit at the Morgan library.
