Stories for the May 26th edition: 1. The 44th Annual Beverly Hills Art Show rolled into town displaying hundreds of fine works of art at Beverly Gardens Park 2. Public Works Day was in full swing as residents got a first hand look at this vital city department. 3. Starting June 3 construction on Santa Monica Blvd will shift into its next phase. 4. May is Older Americans Month as the City Council honored Lou Milkowski and Gloria Jennings Milkowski with the Older American of the Year Award at the May 16th City Council Meeting. 5. The Concerts On Canon Series kicks off once again starting on Thursday, June 8 and runs through August 31. 6. It's not too late to sign up your kids for the Summer Camp classes put on by the Recreation & Parks Department! 7. Mayor Lili Bosse and a record crowd welcomed leading health and wellness expert Doctor Deepak Chopra for an historic group meditation session on the steps of city hall. The Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction project is moving forward and residents and visitors are encouraged to stay aware for detours or lane closures that may effect their commute. 5. At the May 16th Formal Meeting, Mayor Lili Bosse and the City Council honored the Teen Advisory Committee for their hard work and devotion to the city. 6. Mayor Lili Bosse welcomed inspirational speaker and extreme swimmer Diana Nyad to last Monday's "Walk with the Mayor". 3. The Spring edition of the Beverly Hills Art Show takes place on the weekend of May 20 & 21st from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in Beverly Gardens Park. 4. Public Works Services Day takes place at the Farmers' Market on Sunday May 21st from 9:00 am to 1:00pm. 5. The Beverly Hills Public Library hosts a special "Music in the Mansion" when the acclaimed duo "The Piano & the Soprano" perform on Sunday May 21st at 2;00pm. 6. Mark your calendars! "Lupus LA" directors and City Commissioners Alan & Michelle Kaye were in chambers to receive the proclamation and talk about this terrible disease 2. Join the community for a free public meditation session with world famous healer and best selling author Dr. Deepak Chopra taking place on the steps of city hall on Friday May 12th from 12:00 noon till 1:30 pm. 3.
