Stories for the February 5th edition: 1. Beverly Hills celebrated the Chinese New Year at the historic Saban Theater on Sunday January 31st. 2. Community CERT training course begins on Feb 24th. Stories for the December 2nd edition: 1. The Beverly Hills City Council officially adopted a Development Agreement with the Wanda Group for construction at the property located at 9900 Wilshire Blvd. also known as "The One Beverly Hills" Project. 2. Mayor Mirisch and the Chamber of Commerce kicked off Small Business Saturday with a gathering at Beverly Gardens Park followed by a walk through the community visiting several small retailers. 3. A delegation from Beverly Hills Sister City Acapulco visited with Mayor Mirisch and city representatives this week. 4. It's holiday time in Paley Land as the Paley Center for the Media celebrates the holidays. 5. Take a ride on the Jolly Trolley with Mrs Claus for a special holiday tour. The 2nd Annual Will Rogers Awards took place at the Montage Hotel last week, celebrating the best and the brightest in Architecture, Retail, Restaurants and Real Estate. 4. "Shop Small" to support your local community on Saturday November 26th for Small Business Saturday. 5. Holiday Season has begun and Beverly Hills is offering a little something for everyone. Mayor John Mirisch leads a special Hanukkah Sing Along Event at the Roxbury Park Community Center on Thursday December 1st at 7:00pm. 8. The Beverly Hills Public Library is hosting a free screening of the award winning documentary "The Desert of Forbidden Art". Filmmaker Amanda Pope will be on hand for a question and answer session following the screening. Stories for the November 11th edition: 1. The Beverly Hills City Council passed a resolution condemning a recent UNESCO World Heritage Committee decision to deny a historic Jewish connection to Holy Sites in Jerusalem. 2. The City's One Beverly Hills Ad Hoc Committee announced a tentative development agreement with the Wanda Group that could bring in an estimated $820 million dollars to the city over the next 30 years. 3. The community gathered together at the Wallis last Saturday evening for the "Trial by Jury" Sing Along event. 4. The first annual Beverly Hills Hummus Festival attracted an enthusiastic crowd last Sunday at the Beverly Hills Farmers' Market. 5. Stories for the October 28th edition: 1. The City of Beverly Hills presented a public information forum of the Hilton Condominium Tower Initiative, or Measure HH. USC Professor Rebecca Weintraub moderated the program which included information on the Initiative process, The Impartial Analysis, a staff presentation of the Factual Information on file, and a reading of questions submitted by the community with answers from both proponent and opponent. For more information go to: BeverlyHills.org/MeasureHH 2.The City Council wants the community to provide feedback on potentially extending construction hours on the upcoming Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project.
