The City of Beverly Hills prides itself in bringing its residents, visitors and patrons of the arts the finest in solo and chamber music performances. Since 1994, under Artistic Director Laura Schmieder, Music in the Mansion at Greystone Park has presented concerts featuring selected prize-winning international and local artists.

DANIEL MILES, Viola Daniel Miles received a Masterâ??s degree from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, studying with Karen Dreyfus. He has performed with the Downey Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and has been in the principal pool of the USC Symphony. In the summer of 2023 he was accepted as a viola fellow at the prestigious Music Academy of The West. Daniel is also a Teaching Artist at the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles and has recorded at Warner Bros for a future release. CAMERON AKIOKA, Piano Reviewed by the LA Opus as a pianist with â??impressive aplomb and virtuosity,â?? Cameron Akioka performs as both a solo and collaborative artist around the country. A graduate of Rice University with a Dual Degree in Piano Performance and English Literature, she studied with Jon Kimura Parker and is now pursuing a Master of Music under the tutelage of Jeffrey Kahane and Ick Choo Moon at the University of Southern California. Akioka was recently selected to be the pianist in USC Thorntonâ??s â??Chamber Virtuosi,â?? a piano quintet consisting of string faculty and students.

Comprised of individual competition winners and now an award-winning duo, pianist Andrew Boyle and cellist Keith Williams formed at USC in 2019 as a commitment to explore the riches of the piano/cello sonata repertoire. Ever since, theyâ??ve been delighting audiences with numerous sold-out recitals throughout LA and Orange County. Andrew Boyle, piano Dr. Andrew Boyle received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Southern California with the internationally renowned conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane. He has won prizes in many competitions, including first prize in the Gail Newby Concerto Competition and the Arizona State University Concerto Competition. In addition to solo playing, he is an avid chamber musician. He also holds degrees from Rice University and Arizona State University and maintains a private teaching studio. Keith Williams, cello Juilliard-trained cellist Keith Williams, a competition-winning soloist and award-winning chamber musician, completed his studies with Timothy Eddy at Julliard and Ralph Kirshbaum at USC. Williams has worked with multiple string quartets, most recently appearing alongside the acclaimed Verona Quartet. A passionate educator, Keith founded College of Cello for adult cellists, is Biola Universityâ??s Adjunct Professor of Cello, and is a founding member of the Biola Piano Trio.

DUO SYNCOPA Formed in 2017 from a shared passion for the music of Robert Schumann, Duo Syncopa is woven together by the artistry of violinist Yue Qian and Tomomi Sato. In the 2023-2024 season, they present a wide variety of programs throughout the United States. The name Syncopa derives from one of Schumannâ??s favorite compositional devicees â?? syncopation - a key element that both inspires and challenges the nuances of duo playing. Chinese violinist Yue Qian has made appearances at prestigious festivals such as Verbier Festivals and Ravinia Steans Music Institute, and contributed to NAXOS Chinaâ??s â??JADEâ?? album. Beyond stage, she engages in community outreach and teaches chamber music at Colburn School CSPA. Yue holds degrees from Juilliard and USC. Japanese pianist Tomomi Sato, a prizewinner of the 2013 Seattle International Piano Competition, captivates audiences worldwide with a diverse array of performances. Sheâ??s acclaimed for her repertoire knowledge and collaborates with world-renowned artists. A doctoral candidate at USC Thornton, she is reputable for her pedagogical specialty in ensemble playing. Japanese pianist Tomomi Sato, a prizewinner of the 2013 Seattle International Piano Competition, captivates audiences worldwide with a diverse array of performances. Music in the Mansion | Duo Tinkerhess

Eric Tinkerhess is a cellist, viola da gambist, composer and musicologist from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has a B.A. in cello performance from the Oberlin Conservatory, an M.A. from the Paris Conservatory where he studied the viola da gamba with Christophe Coin, and an M.A. in Interpretation of Early Music â?? Research and Practice from the Sorbonne where he researched the impact of French Baroque poetry on the French baroque viola da gamba. His recordings with Audax Records have received numerous awards from the international press ("Diapason d'Or" from Diapason Magazine, "Top Ten Classical Albums of 2019" from The Guardian for The Paris Album with Ensemble Diderot). As a teacher he has given master classes at Huddersfield University (UK) and the Shanghai Conservatory. His compositions have been performed at the Chautauqua Music Festival in New York, the Music Academy of the West in California, and at the Salle Cortot in Paris. He is currently a PhD student of musicology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and has served on the music history faculty of the Colburn School and Pepperdine University. Recorded live at the Greystone Mansion Living Room on April 23, 2023. An opera singer and recitalist Korean baritone Sejin Park performed featured roles as Marcello, Belcore, Yamadori, Il Conte Le nozze di Figaro and Figaro Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Winner of numerous competitions including Verdi International Competition, â??Citta di Pesaroâ?? and Medici International Music Competition in Italy, and â??Galina Vishnevskaya International Competitionâ?? in Moscow, Russia, he was a Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Artist and is an alumni of Palm Beach Opera Benenson Program. He will be singing Germont in La Traviata in 2023 in New York. He holds both an MM and BM from Yonsei University, and the graduate of the Professional Study program at Mannes. Pianist Hyemin Jeong graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with an MM in Collaborative Piano. In demand as an opera pianist and coach, Ms. Jeong was a fellow at the Miami Music Festival and is an alumna of the Palm Beach Opera Bailey Apprentice program. She will be joining the Merola Program in 2023 summer. Mr. Park and Ms. Jeong have been performing throughout Korea and the US including venues such as TLI Art Center, Carnegie Weill Hall, Mixon Hall, Auditorium of New School, Miller Hall, and at the Cleveland Art Song Festival.
Music in the Mansion | Fiato String Quartet

Recorded live at the Greystone Mansion Living Room on April 23, 2023. The Fiato Quartet, formed in 2008, features Carrie Kennedy, Joel Pargman, Aaron Oltman and Ryan Sweeney. They hold degrees in performance from USC, Rice, Northwestern and SUNY Stony Brook. They each have active concert careers with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, New West Symphony, and Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra. As studio musicians, they record music for movies, television and records. Fiato has performed on many chamber music series throughout Los Angeles and toured Costa Rica as part of Festival Credomatic. Fiato has a passion for new music, having performed 10 world premieres. Carrie Kennedy has soloed with orchestras throughout the U.S. and has given concerts in eleven countries. She is a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, and Los Angeles Master Chorale. Carrie holds an MM from SUNY Stony Brook and a BM from USC. Joel Pargman is a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, and the Pasadena Symphony. As a member of the Denali Quartet, Pargman spent eight years as artist-in-residence for the â??Jacarandaâ?? concert series. He has premiered new works by composers Andrew Norman, Donald Crockett, and Ben Johnston, among others. Aaron Oltman performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, Pasadena Symphony, and New West Symphony. He has appeared in chamber music concerts for Camerata Pacifica, Sundays Live at LACMA, South Bay Chamber Music Society, LA Philharmonic's Green Umbrella series, and is active in the Recording Industry. Ryan Sweeney is a talented cellist known for his performances with major orchestras in the Los Angeles area, including the LA Philharmonic, LA Opera, and Pasadena Symphony & Pops. Yasmina Spiegelberg is the laureate of the Rotary International Competition Madrid Velazquez, the USC Concerto Competition, and the Frances Walton Seattle Competition. She was an Ensemble Forward Grantee through Chamber Music America. She is a Fellow at Ensemble Connect, a program of Carnegie Hall. She holds an Artist Diploma from USC with Yehuda Gilad. Javier Iglesias Martin born in Madrid, Spain. Javier has lived in the United States since 2010. He studied at the Peabody Conservatory, New England Conservatory, and completed a Doctorate in Musical Arts at USC with Ralph Kirshbaum. Javier is the cello professor at Pepperdine University and plays regularly with Delirium Musicum Chamber Orchestra. Katelyn Vahala is a passionate soloist, chamber musician, and educator in the Los Angeles area. Highlights from this past year include becoming a finalist in the Leipzig International Bach Competition and winning the 2021 USC Thornton Concerto Competition. Katelyn also teaches piano at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music
