ALL RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REVIEW PREPAREDNESS PLANS

The fires burning in numerous locations in Southern California, currently pose no immediate threat to Beverly Hills. However, the Beverly Hills Fire Department is on alert with extra precautions in effect to both prevent and respond to fires, particularly in the hillside areas. 

Residents are urged to review their emergency preparedness plans with family members and should be ready to evacuate if a fire threatens the City. Begin by reading the City's Press Release on reviewing preparedness plans and signing up to receive emergency notifications.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN EVACUATION

As we have seen in the recent wildfires in California, you may have only minutes to evacuate your home. Click HERE to learn more about the most important things you can do to prepare for a sudden evacuation, and what to do if you are given the order to leave or a fire is quickly approaching.

All residents should sign up to receive emergency notifications from the City on their mobile phones as soon as possible. Depending on the situation, the information provided may include evacuation orders, road closures and location of shelters.

 

SUPPORT LOCAL WILDFIRE RELIEF EFFORTS

The City of Beverly Hills stands with communities affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California and extends its deepest sympathies to all those impacted. Read the City's Press Release on supporting relief efforts.

How to Help:

Providing financial assistance is the most effective way to support the evacuees, including pets and animals. The public is encouraged to donate through the following organizations:

Be aware that scammers are known to take advantage of disaster response situations, and consider the following:

  • Be cautious of requests for donations by unfamiliar organizations or people.
  • Beware of unsolicited contacts and appeals on social media sites. Some leading relief charities now accept donations via cell phone, but unsolicited text messages, like unsolicited telephone and email communications, should be viewed with suspicion and handled with caution.
  • Crowd-funding and other types of internet-giving can be tools of tremendous good, but as with any type of giving it can be abused, so proceed with caution when donating online.
