A recent report from the California Geological Survey is showing a possible earthquake fault zone extending into Beverly Hills. According to the study, the Santa Monica Fault Zone could extend eastward through Century City, through Beverly Hills parallel to Santa Monica Boulevard to the border of the City of West Hollywood. For more information, please call the Building and Safety Department at 310-285-1119.

Because of the prevalence of earthquake faults in the region, the City of Beverly Hills is always implementing proactive mitigation measures. For example, since 2014, all new commercial and multi-family construction must include a seismic study to determine if faults lie underneath the property.
