Living Emergency Management Great California Shakeout
Great California Shakeout

Do you know what to do when an earthquake occurs? Register for the Great California ShakeOut at www.ShakeOut.org/register and be a part of the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history which will occur in houses, businesses, public spaces in the City of Beverly Hills and throughout California at 10:18 AM on October 18, 2012! Participants will receive information on how to prepare for the inevitable major earthquake in the region and what actions to take during and after the shaking.

On October 18 at 10:18 AM everyone should stop and ask themselves, “If an earthquake occurred right now what would I do and would I be prepared?”  All employees and customers should be asked to Drop to the Ground, Take Cover under something sturdy (desk or table), and Hold On.  If you or your employees are in the field, you should ensure you are away from power lines and other objects that could fall on you. If you are in a car, pull to the side of the road, away from underpasses.

For more information about the earthquake scenario, to obtain handouts and to learn how to prepare to participate on October 18 go to www.ShakeOut.org  or call the City of Beverly Hills Office of Emergency Management at 310-285-1025
