Hymn of Life: Tulips depicts three large tulips and reflects Kusama's whimsical and complex style. Born in Nagano Prefecture, Japan in 1929, Kusama started to paint using dots and nets as motifs at age ten. Her body of work includes paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media installations. Kusama's outdoor sculptures can be found in Japan, Spain, and France.
Fun Fact: This is the first public outdoor sculpture in the United States by this internationally renowned artist and the first commissioned piece of artwork by the Fine Art Commission?
