Acrylic Paint
Fine Art Ordinance Obligation
As co-founder of the Los Angeles Fine Arts Squad in the late 1960s, Terry Schoonhoven practiced a kind of street-sized trompe-l'oeil, in which the wall of a building was made to "disappear" into an altogether different landscape. Here, Schoonhoven also fools the eye - despite the leap in scale as well as space -- by seeming to extend the barrel-vaulted ceiling into an urban space with stylized figures in motion.
