A Philadelphia native who works in upstate New York, Albert Paley began as a jeweler, and it shows in the delicacy and sparkle of his elaborate metal sculptures. He normally creates works that are designed to enhance and incorporate into architectural spaces. As such, he has received high recognition among architects and craftspeople alike and is considered one of the world's leading metalsmiths. Paley is the first metal sculptor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects.
