The primary mission of the Community Preservation program is to enforce, and coordinate the enforcement of, a variety of state, county, and city codes, ordinances, and resolutions in the most efficient and equitable manner possible. Emphasis is given to proactive community preservation, i.e. identifying existing violations so that immediate compliance may be obtained.
Community Preservation is also the City's liaison to the City Prosecutor in cases where legal action becomes necessary. With rare exception, voluntary compliance is always the first goal of code enforcement.
