Each station is manned in shifts.  Personnel are assigned to a rotating shift designated as Shift A, Shift B or Shift C.  Each shift works 24 hour days according to the shift calendar.  Rotation is two days on, then four days off, for a total of 56 hours/week/shift.  Battalion Chiefs operate out of Headquarters and are in charge of operations at all three stations during each of their respective shifts.
