| How Do I Get a Library Card? |
Print a Registration Form, fill it out and bring it to the library along with proof of current home address.
The Beverly Hills Public Library issues library cards free to residents of the City of Beverly Hills and residents of Los Angeles and Orange counties.
We make special provisions for patrons who live outside our service area but who work, own a business or property, or go to an accredited school in Beverly Hills.
You may purchase a non-resident library card for $234.00 (good for 1 year from date of purchase).

To obtain a card, please provide two forms of identification at registration, one photo ID and one proof of current address. A mail drop or P.O. box will not be accepted. |
| How Many Items May I Check Out? |
A patron may check out 64 items to their account at any given time.

| How Long Can I Keep Library Materials? |
- Books and audio books are loaned for 28 days.
- New books and media (music CDs, Videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and Kits) are loaned for 14 days.
- RENEWED ITEMS - 14 days from date of renewal.

| How Do I Renew? |
Library items may be renewed in person, by computer, or by telephone. Patrons can renew their library materials by phone at any time by dialing (310) 288-2223.
Books and Audio Books may be renewed, as long as no one else has placed a hold on them. They are renewed for 14 days from the renewal date, and may be renewed twice. The earliest an item may be renewed is 7 days before the due date.
The following may not be renewed: DVD's, videos, magazines, interlibrary loans, and music CD's, children's kits and CD Roms.

| Where Do I Return Library Materials? |
- Library materials should be returned to the Beverly Hills Public Library.
- Outside bookdrop is located in the handicapped parking area in the lot off Rexford Drive.

| What if I Return Library Materials Late? |
Fines for returning books and audio books late are $0.25 per day, up to a $25.00 maximum. Fines for returning media late are $.50 perday, up to $25.00 maximum.

| What if I Lose Library Materials? |
| Charges for lost or damaged materials are based upon the replacement cost of the item plus a $16.00 processing fee. |

Reserve card: $0.75
Special interlibrary loan: Fees may vary according to the lending library.

| How Do I Place A Reserve? |
You can place reserve requests online or at the Circulation desk. Users over 18 with a library card can place a reserve. There is a $0.75 fee* per request.

| Can I Have Library Materials Delivered to My Home? |
| Home delivery is a free service to Beverly Hills residents who are unable to visit the library because of physical difficulties. To qualify, a patron must show a letter from his or her physician verifying that the patron is chronically or temporarily ill or disabled. Staff delivers and picks up materials every two weeks.
