This guide has been prepared as an aid so that you will be able to express you opinions briefly and clearly before the Commission and thus increase the effectiveness of your presentation. Remarks are limited to 3 minutes unless extended by the Commission.

3. Your Statement should include all pertinent facts within your knowledge. It is important to discuss only those matters relating to the hearing and to tie your discussion of the facts directly to the decision you wish the Commission to reach.

Written Testimony
In order to have written material included in the Health and Safety Commissioner's mailed Agenda Packet, 10 copies of the material must be delivered to the Emergency Management office no later than 11 calendar days before the date of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing.
Written material (10 copies) that is presented to the Health and Safety Commission after this date and up to 1:00 p.m. the day of the Health and Safety Commission Hearing, will be included in the Commissioners’ Agenda folder, but may not be reviewed by individual Commissioners due to the amount of material that the Commissioners have to review for the Agenda.

Members of the public may address the Commission regarding any items not on the Agenda that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. By State law, the Commission may not discuss or vote on items not on the Agenda.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

With the concurrence of the Commission, the Chair may choose to amend the order of the items on the agenda.

CONSENT CALENDAR

1.	Resolution of the Health and Safety Commission of the City of Beverly Hills continuing to authorize public meetings to be held via teleconferencing pursuant to government code section 54953(e) and making findings and determinations regarding the same

Recent legislation was adopted allowing the Health and Safety Commission to continue virtual meetings during the COVID-19 declared emergency subject to certain conditions and the proposed resolution implements the necessary requirements.

2.	Consideration of Minutes

Consideration of minutes from the Health and Safety Commission regular meeting on February 28, 2022.

3.	Moment of Mindfulness

Commissioner Erica Felsenthal, PhD, will lead the Commission in a Moment of Mindfulness.

4.	Health and Safety Employee Excellence Award

Recognizes an employee or a group of people who have gone beyond their daily responsibilities to contribute to the City’s health and safety efforts. This month the Commission will recognize the Public Works Department, Senior Management Analyst, Tania Schwartz.

5.	COVID-19 Update

Provides information and a discussion on a variety of topics related to the COVID-19 emergency and what the community should know.

6.	Beverly Hills Fire Department Accreditation

An informational update on the Beverly Hills Fire Department’s Internationally-Accredited Agency status.

7.	Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Program Information and Basic First Aid Tips

Provides a presentation by CPR Administrative Coordinator Les Bronte dedicated to teaching skills that save lives.

8.	April - Earthquake Preparedness Month

Staff will provide an informational update on the upcoming annual earthquake preparedness month campaign. Presentation to include tips on how to be prepared in the event of an earthquake.

9.	Outdoor Warning Siren System

Provides information on the status of the Citywide Outdoor Warning Siren System.
