The Beverly Hills City Council recently approved construction plans for the North Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction project, which is scheduled to break ground in January 2017. The project includes rebuilding the roadway between Doheny Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, replacing century-old drainage and installing fiber optic cable and new street lighting. During the 18-month construction period, traffic lanes will be subject to closures and turns will be restricted.
Current proposed construction hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. - Fri. However, the hours could be increased depending on the type of work in progress. The City Council is looking for feedback on whether extended construction hours are desirable. Longer working hours would help reduce the duration of the project. If longer hours are required, noise barriers would be installed to minimize construction noise.
