On April 4, 2023, Mayor Gold introduced several initiatives during his installation as Mayor which included Pubic Health Services Coordination.

The City Council approved this item being added to the City Council Priorities for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 (FY 23-24) on April 18, 2023. The deliverables, as approved by the City Council for FY 23-24 are:

• Establish a City Council Liaison Committee consisting of Mayor Gold and Councilmember Lili Bosse
• Compile a list of health services the City already provides to its residents (e.g. Nurse Practitioner Program)
• Identify gaps in health services programs offered by City and the needs of the residents
• Determine financial and structural needs for establishing a Department of Public Health Services
• Determine governing structure to better delivery health services to the community
