City Council Will Consider Sworn Police Labor Agreements at the May 24 City Council Meeting

Beverly Hills, CA – The Beverly Hills City Council will consider the Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Police Officers’ Association (POA) and Police Management Association (PMA) at the Tuesday, May 24, 2022 City Council Formal Session beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will be available to view at www.beverlyhills.org/live.

In accordance with state law, the City of Beverly Hills participates in labor negotiations (also known as collective bargaining) with its employee associations, or bargaining units. The results of these negotiations are written agreements, or contracts, reached between the City and the City employee associations. These agreements are commonly referred to as Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).

To align the compensation of the City’s Police Officers with the compensation of the City’s Firefighters, and to enhance Police Officer recruitment efforts, the City and the Police Officers’ Association and Police Management Association have reached agreements on the terms of new MOU’s. The City Council will consider adoption of these MOUs during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

A public meeting regarding the compensation of the City’s Sworn Police employees occurred at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

The proposed MOUs are posted on the City’s website at https://www.beverlyhills.org/negotiations/.
