Project La Cienega Park and Recreation Complex Master Plan CIP Project #00343

Project Execution for Public Engagement  The City  hired an independent consultant through a Request for Qualifications to conduct a comprehensive public engagement approach to collect input from residents about amenities and activities at the Complex.  The consultant, Consensus and Collaboration Program (CCP), was recommended by the Recreation and Parks Commission and City Council Liaisons.  CCP, with the collaboration of the Community Services Department and the Public Works Department, used a comprehensive public engagement approach to collect input about La Cienega Park and Recreation Complex.

Public Engagement Project Cost: $147,517
The La Cienega Park & Recreation Complex Public Engagement Project is part of the Capital Improvement Project budget, CIP #00343, specifically for improving the parks and recreation facilities at La Cienega Park & Recreation Complex.  The Public Engagement Project is funded using monies from the Parks and Recreation Facilities Fund (Fund 160).

Description The City reached out to the community in various ways, to understand what amenities and activities are desirable in the future at La Cienega Park and Recreation Complex.  This public engagement project sought feedback and ideas from current park and facility users, stakeholder groups and residents over a six month period through focus groups, a community survey, interviews, community presentations and outreach to service clubs, sports groups and others, and welcomed feedback at Town Hall meetings where community input was encouraged.
