Embrace & Celebrate Culture is a new, citywide Arts & Culture and Human Relations inter-commission initiative to celebrate diversity and create greater culture of inclusion, equity and belonging in the City of Beverly Hills.

Through Community Engagement and the Arts, the two commissions will find relevant ways to showcase global arts and cultural art forms, support local artists, arts and service organizations, and honor community-based individuals and philanthropists who enrich their communities through daily acts of kindness, compassion and tireless service.

Visions of the Future

Artist, Kevin HEES - Pop-Up Art Activation

The Next Beverly Hills Committee, in partnership with the Beverly Hills’ Arts and Culture and Human Relations Commissions will launch a new pop-up art exhibit located at 445 N. Cañon Dr. featuring work by American artist Kevin HEES. Slated to be on display for one month, this is the second pop-up to launch as part of the City’s Visions of the Future program intended to activate public spaces with vibrant, visual pop-up art experiences for Beverly Hills residents, business owners and visitors from the Los Angeles area and around the world.

About the Artist, Kevin HEES

Kevin HEES is an American artist who work incorporates physics, numerology, universal concepts, spirituality, geometry and symbolism to create strikingly colorful works riddled with positive messaging.  With many works featuring iterations of circles and lines, HEES uses these primary shapes to represent the circular perfection of the physical and spiritual universe, and outline the human pursuits of health, wealth and happiness. 

Since he began making ripples in the art world in 2019, with his works resonating with a host of internationally celebrated collectors, HEES has exhibited publicly across major urban city centers worldwide and been featured in shows alongside internationally-renowned artists.

Sing for Hope Pianos Beverly Hills
August 5 - September 6, 2021
Parks and Public Spaces in Beverly Hills

The City of Beverly Hills and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts partnered with non-profit Sing for Hope organization, bringing 16 artist-designed Sing for Hope Pianos to parks and public spaces through Beverly Hills from August 5 through September 6 for anyone  and everyone to play.  The Sing for Hope Pianos be moved to permanent homes in public schools across the greater Los Angeles area in the fall.

The Sing for Hope Pianos program began in New York City in 2010 and is one of the worlds largest annually recurring public arts programs.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts

A public unveiling and official launch of the much-anticipated Sing for Hope Pianos Beverly Hills was held at The Wallis on August 5 where over 500 people got a first glimpse of the 16 vibrantly-painted upright pianos that are now in parks and public spaces throughout the City for all to see, play and enjoy for free through September 6.  

The event featured a special performance by local pianists playing Bach on all 16 Sing for Hope Pianos in unison, a performance by Sing for Hope co-founders Monica Yunus and Camille Zamora, performances by Debbie Allen Dance Academy dancers, solo and group performances by musical director and pianist Herman Jackson, Grammy winning writer and pianist Tommy Coster and pianist Wayne Linsey, as well as performances by children of the Shilla Hekmat Music Academy. Actor and activist Monique Coleman received the Sing for Hopes annual Art for All Award.

Beverly Hills Mayor Robert Wunderlich praised the Sing for Hope partnership with the City and said, Sing for Hope Pianos innovatively brings together culture and community, two of the hallmarks of our city.  We invite all to enjoy these creative works while celebrating incredible artistic talent in a world-class environment.

Artist, James Goldcrown - Pop-Up Art Activation

The Next Beverly Hills Committee has partnered with the City of Beverly Hills' Arts and Culture and Human Relations Commissions to launch its new program, Visions of the Future, special pop-up art installations intended to activate our public spaces with vibrant,  visual experiences for Beverly Hills residents, business owners and visitors from the LA area and around the world.  Visions of the Future is part of the City's Embrace & Celebrate Culture initiative.

About the Artist, James Goldcrown

Born in West London, James Goldcrown is a self-taught artist/photographer now based in Los Angeles

After leaving school at 17 years old, he had a career as a fashion photographer.  James created the documentary, To Die No More, which highlighted the AIDS/HIV epidemic in Africa, with proceeds donated to the people featured in the film.  Since 2007, Goldcrown has incorporated mixed media into his photography, influences by his previous days as a street artist in the early ‘90s.

Internationally renowned for his Bleeding Hearts/Lovewall murals, including one displayed here in Beverly Hills, Goldcrown has also collaborated with nationally-recognized brand and companies, sold art privately, and displayed publicly across major urban city centers worldwide.

This is Goldcrown’s first collaboration with the City of Beverly Hills.

Vision in Light: Windows on the Wallis

From November 19 to November 29, the City of Beverly Hills in partnership with TZ Projects and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presented an extraordinary art experience – a site-specific art installation projected on the windows of The Wallis to inspire joy, wonder and awareness.

This drive-by art exhibit featured emerging and established artists with artwork featured by: Adrienne Adar, Alison Saar, Awol Erizku, Ayana V. The intention of the exhibit is about positively looking forward by creating wonder and meaning during challenging times.
