Free Shredding and Compost Event
Question: Do you prefer the material to be shredded placed in plastic bags or boxes? I have mine in boxes which I would like back.
Answer: Boxes are fine and you can have the boxes back.
Question: Do you shred on the spot?
Answer: The shredding will be on the spot. However, it will be drop off only to make the line move faster.
Question: Do you shred computer hard drives?
Answer: No hard drive destruction at this event, only paper documents.
Question: For the compost, do I have to bring my own container? If so, what kind?
Answer: No container needed, compost is bagged already.
Question: What is the name of the company being used.
Answer: The company name is Shred Source and they are AAA certified by NAID.
Question: What can be brought in to be destroyed?
Answer: Paper material only
The following will NOT ACCEPTED:
- Hard drives
- Electronic waste (printers, batteries, computers, cell phones, tablets, etc.)
- Books
- 3 ring binders
- Cardboard
- X-rays
- CD’s
- Tapes (VHS, DLT, etc.)
- ** Anything that is not a paper product
Please note that paper clips, binding clips, rubber bands, staples, hanging folders, clasp folders and envelopes can go through the shredder, these items do not need to be removed from the paper.
Question: What is the maximum amount of material the resident can bring?
Answer: Yes, 50 lbs per person. If you have a need for more please contact us and we can work with you.
Question: Will you have staff assisting with unloading customer vehicles?
Answer: There will be staff assist with unloading, this will all be contact less to ensure safety of all parties involved.
