Business Organic Waste Program

Beginning January 1, 2022, Beverly Hills businesses will be required to separate and recycle their organic waste. Businesses can comply with SB1383 by subscribing to the organic waste service.

Additionally, businesses will be contacted by the City’s hauler, Athens Service, or a City representative to arrange services. Commercial businesses that generate two cubic yards of solid waste or more a week, and the organic material in the bin is 20 gallons or more, will be required to set up a separate organic waste collection service.

Depending on the commercial organic material generation, business container sizes will vary. Below is a list of container sizes:

Organic Waste Container Sizes:

65 Gallon Cart (plastic), the following containers are metal containers;1.5 cubic yards, 2 cubic yards, 3 cubic yards and 4 cubic yards.

The City of Beverly Hills is working to develop an SB 1383 program(s) that will meet the numerous requirements of the law. Businesses will be notified throughout the coming months as details become available. Please continue to check this page for updates.
