The Street Sweeping program was established in the late 1920's and has modified over the years in response to Federal and State Clean Water regulations. The program provides pollution control and reduces the flow of urban runoff entering our storm drains, waterways, and ocean. All residential streets within the City of Beverly Hills are swept once a week, while commercial streets are swept six days a week and alleys on a bi-monthly basis. On an annual basis, the City's street sweepers collect nearly 1,000 tons of debris and organics from the streets and gutters.
