July 17 at 9:30 pm
Since 1996, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and CUNY TV have produced together one of the few French programs to appear on American television:Canapé. Stylish and modern, Canapé is the only program entirely devoted to French cultural events in New York and the United States. This monthly half-hour show includes film releases, book translations, exhibitions, festivals, ballets, concerts and theater productions. This episode features Albertine Bookstore & Reading Room located at the French Cultural Services on Museum Mile in New York City, Goodbye to Language by Jean-Luc Godard, Timbuktu by Abderrahmane Sissako; and the remarkable new documentary Citizenfour, directed by the investigative journalist Laura Poitras, chronicles the key days in which Edward Snowden made his revelations from a hotel room in Hong Kong.
