Planning Division Projects
Central Area Single-Family Home Bulk & Mass Study -Exploring ways to reduce percieved size of new homes and provide adequate parking in the Central Area.
Zoning Code Reorganization -Updating the City's Zoning Code to make it easier to read and to apply to development projects.
Housing Programs - The City is committed to planning for the housing needs of the community.
Sustainability - Educate the community about sustainability issues and promote ecologically-sensitive practices.
Zoning Review - Review projects for compliance with City zoning codes, work with applicants to obtain any necessary entitlements.
Entitlements - Provide information and assistance in obtaining reviews and entitlements prior to applying for a building permit.
Planning Commission- Support the Planning Commission who are charged with overseeing administration of the zoning code.
Architectural Commission - Support the Architectural Commission who are charged with approving the architecture of commercial and multi-family buildings.
Cultural Heritage Commission - Support the Cultural Heritage Commission who are charged with recommending the designation of historic properties to City Council and reviewing Mills Act program applications.
Design Review Commission - Support the Design Review Commission who are charged with approving the architecture of the parts of single-family homes that are visible from City streets.
*New* Discontinuance of Uses- At its regular meeting on Thursday, February 13, 2014, the Beverly Hills Planning Commission will discuss a study session item on the establishment of time limits for discontinued legally nonconforming uses and conditionally permitted uses.
