City of Beverly Hills Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The City of Beverly Hills continues to receive updates from both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH). The City is being proactive and is in regular communication with our local and national partners to coordinate potential response.
We are currently accepting applications for Film and Still Photography Permits for 15 or less people (i.e. essential cast+crew+background) in residential areas, so long as the location serves as a “closed set” (e.g. closed to the general public), all activity is contained on private property (e.g. no filming or photography on or from the sidewalk or other public right-of-way), all production vehicles (including personal cast/crew cars) are parked on private property at location or offsite (i.e. no street parking or use of another property within walking distance), cast/crew are staged either on private property at location or offsite but not within walking distance, all filming/photography activity stays within normal hours (8AM-9PM, Monday-Saturday; 9AM-8PM, Sunday), and prep/strike days are restricted to 8AM-6PM (9AM-6PM on Sunday).
For filming and still photography in commercial areas, the City is now accepting applications for large-scale productions (i.e. 15+ cast+crew). Although there is no restriction on cast/crew size, each and every space (e.g. filming locations, staging areas, makeup/wardrobe stations, etc.) must remain a “closed set” (e.g. closed to the general public) at all times while cast or crew members occupy them. Requests for street parking will be considered on a case-by-case basis, bearing in mind that any area where production vehicles are parked must also remain a “closed set” environment.
Please note that City Parks and commercial properties situated in transitional zones (i.e. commercial properties that abut residential areas) will be treated as residential areas. Restrictions for residential areas will apply to these properties.
Per Los Angeles County Health Order, gatherings outside the household, and thus special event permits, are not being issued for events until further notice. Outdoor dining and vehicle-based parades are exempted per the order, and allowed to apply for permits.
The City of Beverly Hills Filming and Special Events Office will continue reviewing future filming, photography and special event permit applications on a case by case basis.
