
Jimmy Delshad was elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2003 and 2007 and served as mayor in 2007. He is an entrepreneur and business executive who established his own company in 1978 in the field of computer storage technology. His company's products were marketed throughout the world. He sold his company in 1999 and was elected president of Sinai Temple for two terms. He is currently an independent management consultant.
Mr. Delshad received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from California State University, Northridge in 1965 and enrolled in post-graduate studies in computer science at UCLA, USC and the University of Judaism.
Mr. Delshad is actively involved in several Southern California and Beverly Hills humanitarian, cultural, educational and civic and social organizations and groups. As president of Sinai Temple, he expanded membership, established endowment funds and guided the renovations of the temple's facilities. Mr. Delshad is president of Magbit Education Foundation, a director of the Maple Counseling Center board of directors, a director of Sheba Medical Center and an active group leader with Jewish Federation and Ai Pac. He served on the Beverly Hills General Plan Update Committee. He is a fundraiser and contributor to numerous Southern California and Beverly Hills organizations, providing leadership and financial support to segments of the community that fill social services needs.
He has been recognized and received civic service awards as Man of the Year from Sinai Temple, Burning Bush from the Jewish Federation of Men's Clubs, and Conservative Judaism Leadership from Masortil Schecter Institute.
Councilmember Delshad has resided in Southern California for over 45 years and has been a Beverly Hills resident for the past 15 years. He and wife, Lonnie, have two children, Debra and Daniel, who are graduates of Beverly Hills schools and the University of Southern California.
