Tracinda Obelisk, 1991
Joe Fay (1950- )
Fine Art Ordinance Obligation of 100 N. Crescent Drive
Fay's sculpture incorporates natural imagery such as animals and people, and includes a body of works involving silhouettes of animals cut from brushed aluminum. As for the Obelisk, it was the scale that was important. Both pieces are site specific in nature.
Fun Fact: Fay's love of the outdoors and of fly-fishing drew him to move from LA to a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains where he now resides.
