DUI Checkpoint Results
Beverly Hills, Calif. – On September 8, 2023, a DUI checkpoint was held at N. Santa Monica Blvd. and Crescent Drive from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Of the 1,450 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, 260 were screened. Five drivers were cited for driving without a driver’s license. One driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding DUI warrant.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held in December. The specific date has yet to be determined.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
